Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

Who we are: Tenpal is an early-stage AI startup building an AI Bid Agent for public tenders. We automatically search, analyze, and prepare applications for public tenders — turning public procurement into a revenue channel that scales without adding headcount. No more PDFs, no copy-paste, no missed deadlines. Work that used to take a whole bid team now runs autonomously.
Problem we solve: Nearly half of all public tenders in Germany get exactly one bidder. The government wastes billions each year because 80% of companies in Germany don't participate in this market — little transparency, overcomplicated application processes, no market dynamics. We're changing that, giving everyone access and lowering the barrier to participate to near zero.
What you'll do
You own the full loop with us — from understanding the problem to coming up with your own solution, building it, testing it, and reviewing it. No ticket-passing, no "engineering just implements" — we're rethinking how products get built, and that only works if our engineers think like owners, not executors.
Make architecture calls for a system processing structured and unstructured tender data at scale
Design and evolve our AI pipelines: retrieval, classification, automated document generation — including the infrastructure that keeps it reliable in production
Make technical decisions with direct impact on product, customers, and roadmap — no layer between you and the consequences of your call
Who we're looking for
Several years of experience as a senior full-stack engineer
Self-driven — you don't wait for instructions, you dig into the problem yourself and come back with a solution
Wants ownership over comfort — small team, high leverage, high speed, real impact
Bonus points if you have experience with
Building and running production LLM pipelines — prompt engineering, retrieval, evals, agentic workflows
DevOps / infrastructure — CI/CD, containerized deployments, cloud infra you've owned end-to-end, not just used
Large-scale data pipelines pulling structured signal out of messy, unstructured sources
Experience with parsing, generating, or filling complex forms and PDFs at scale
